Hall of Fame
- Voting starts soon
- Media coverage discussed for Award Ceremony at Derby/Figure 8 meeting in March.
- Ideas needed for Hall of Fame awards (ex. Trophies, plaques, etc.)
Stock Class Rules
- Rear ends must be GM-GM, Ford-Ford, Mopar-Mopar.
-Axle upgrades discussed. Unanimous vote no. Stock means stock.
-It was proposed to allow rear quarter panel of stock class cars to be reinforced inside trunk area to protect axles, tires and fuel tanks. Motioned, 2nd. Unanimous vote yes.
- Discussed to allow reinforcement of rims to prevent lugs from pulling through rims-for safety reasons. Discussed, no vote held.
- Proposed to have ¼ inch port off of intake. Hose must be accessible from driver’s side window door post. Vacuum can still be tested directly under hood if desired. Motioned, 2nd, voted yes.
Promotions Officer
- NeFigure8N is still without a Promotions Officer. It was discussed to have more “give away” promotional items but subject was tabled.

Driver of the Week

2010 Nebraska Fair Board Meeting
-NeFigure8N has been invited to attend this meeting. The possibility of officers attending was discussed in order to promote our group and talk to the fair boards in many counties about what we can do for them to better events as well as what they can do for us. No decision has been made regarding our attendance.
Valentine Figure 8
-A promoter from the Valentine area would like to hold a race there in the 2010 season in order to get figure 8 races started there. He figures this might get locals interested and kick off possible figure 8 races there in the future. A possible $200 per car that shows up guarantee has been discussed and promoter believes this is possible. That way, there’s a guarantee at least most travel expenses will be taken care of for everyone who would like to attend this event and help that region out.

-Unanimous vote to make Skip our new Manager of NeFigure8N.
-President
-Theron Ahlman, Dan Botsch and Todd Ogorzolka nominated.
-Voting was held and Dan Botsch is continuing as President of NeFigure8N.
-Vice-President
-Brian Prochaska, Theron Ahlman and Toby Beckmann nominated.
-Voting was held and Theron Ahlman is our new Vice-President of NeFigure8N.
-Rules Officer
-Todd Ogorzolka nominated and voted in as our new Rules Officer of NeFigure8N.
-Many assistants volunteered to help including: Terry Tritt, Ed Tritt, Skip Blundell and Kim Blundell
-Secretary
-Megan Kembel nominated
-Unanimous vote to have Megan continue as our Secretary.
-Promotions Officer
-This office remains open to any volunteers that would like to fill it. We as also looking for volunteers to form committees to help all officers. If you would like to help please email www.nefigure8n@yahoo.com
Hall of Fame
-Leon Pearson and Dan Botsch are working together to start a Hall of Fame for figure 8 racing, derbying as well as an extra spot for a promoter, official, etc..
-It will cost $20 to nominate someone.
-There will be 5 derby drivers, 2 figure 8 drivers, and 1 spot open for officials, promoters, etc..
-More information about this will be posted on www.nefigure8n.com soon.
-Nominations will be taken until New Year’s Eve on website.
-Voting commences January 1, 2010 and ends March 1, 2010.
-Nominations as well as payment will be done online.
-If you have any questions about the Hall of Fame, please contact Dan Botsch.
2010 Racing Season
-T-Shirts will be done by the same company that did them for 2009 season. Theron has and will continue working with them.
-Dan Botsch has a huge roll of chrome to make racing stickers with that he is planning to donate to NeFigure8N.
-Fan Club discussed.
-Promotional items discussed. (Hats, Window Stickers, Cozies, etc…)
-Discussion held about the group’s mission and what exactly our goals are.
-Mike with DDOT was present and offered to work with us in any way he could.
Chain Racing/Enduro Races
- Interest in these types of events needs to be figured out as tracks that could put a show or two on for us in 2010 season needs to be talked to. If you would like to race in an event of this nature, please email www.nefigure8n@yahoo.com
Stopwatch
- Idea formed to use stopwatch in addition to current lap counting procedures discussed.
-It would be started when green flag is thrown and stopped when the car counted completes it’s final lap.
-This would give an exact time of how long that car ran.
-It is thought this would be another way of achieving more exact results.
-Voted to make this a recommendation to Officiating Teams.
Video Camera
-The purchase of a video camera by NeFigure8N was discussed to have at all races so there’s video of every race and of the whole track. This would be nice to have for the website, as well as for anyone who would like to use the footage in case of a discrepancy. No motion made. Tabled.
Points Series
-Proposed to keep it the same. Tabled.
Black Flags
-Proposed that all officials at trackside have a full set of flags and are able to use them. Motioned, 2nd. It is recommended by NeFigure8N to officials that this happens.
-Dry erase board idea revisited. The idea includes having a dry erase board close to a track side official. If a black flag is thrown, the car number of the person the receives the black flag is written on the board. This allows all drivers to see who is out, is clear to the driver who is black flagged as well as communicates the black flag to the crowd. It is believed that this will avoid much confusion. It is recommended to officials by NeFigure8N to do this.
NeFigure8N Membership Dues
-Will stay the same as 2009 season. $25 per person, per class.
2010 NeFigure8N Championship Race Date and Location
-Sunday race discussed in order to eliminate working around Huskers games. Date, Time and Location voted in as follows:
- Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 1:00pm
-Location: Lincoln, NE
-$45 entry fee per class for non-members, $20 entry fee per class for members (If you attend the Championship Race, membership costs nothing.)
