The 2009 NeFigure8n race at Butler County Motorplex brought out 37 Open Class cars and 12 Stock Class cars. The night started off with a wet and messy track making it hard to get around during the heat race but come feature time was in great condition. The Stock Class started with Creighton Demuth filling in for Robert Moore in the X and Megan Kembel 39 leading the field of seven cars to the green flag. Kembel jumped to the early lead in first corner but was passed by Demuth quickly who lead the rest of the way and was never challenged to pick up the win in the X machine. Jeff Hansen 81 finished 2nd followed by Brandon Ogorzolka 82B and Megan Kembel 39 who picked up her second top 5 in just as many races.
The Open Class feature started with Leroy Taylor 07 leading the field with 89Z to the green. Current points leader Collin Demuth started in the last row of the 12 car field. Taylor led the early part of the race with no one seriously challenging him for the lead. Then while running with a lapped car broke something into his front ending his night and chance at getting the victory and turning the lead over to Bob Tempel in the 40. A few laps later Bob was also caught up with a lapped car and black flagged for helping the him on to the dirt berm giving Collin Demuth 51 who had been charging hard from the back into the top five a chance to sneak by and lead the final laps to make it two for two in NeFigure8n points races. Jeff Wilhoft 45J came home second while Dan Polak 327, Ben Blum 76 and Creighton Demuth 18 rounded out the top 5.
